Alliance Environmental Group Offers Coil Cleaning Services

Azusa, CA (PRWEB) June 2, 2009

Alliance Environmental Group, a leading provider of indoor air quality remediation and mold/asbestos removal services throughout California, today announced the expansion of its offering to include commercial and residential coil cleaning services aimed at increasing the energy efficiency and air quality for its customers.

According to independently funded research published in the ASHRAE Journal (Nov 2006), cleaning the coils in an air conditioning or HVAC system results in a marked improvement in energy efficiency. This improvement in energy efficiency has the twofold effect of (a) lowering costs to a property owner in an area of consumption that can prove to be quite expensive and (b) levying less of a toll on the environment. At Alliance Environmental Group, Inc. – California’s largest provider of home and commercial air duct/coil cleaning services – they consider this a win-win situation.

Building managers often ignore or minimize resources devoted to air-handler maintenance (which includes services like coil cleaning) whenever budget constraints are in effect, but if property maintenance is a significant issue to consider in overall energy costs then conserving or ignoring this area could actually be elevating energy costs in the long run.

A research study was performed at 1500 Broadway, a 34 floor building in New York City. The results were astounding. Cleaning the coil of just a single air handler (one of four of the building’s total air handlers) resulted in energy efficiency improvements that forecasted a savings of approximately $ 40,000 annually. Apart from this, the coil cleaning process resulted in a 14% increased in airflow, added significant cooling capacity, increased the thermal efficiency of the coil by 10%.

Apart from these statistical leaps in efficiency, there were other “soft” positive results that resulted from the coil cleaning process. According to the study, HVAC systems are cleaner after coil restoration and do not provide an environment for fungal, bacterial or microbial growth. The research also purports that indoor air quality (IAQ) and the awareness of IAQ are increased in the building, which – in turn – can increase overall comfort and work effectiveness. According to the study, tenant satisfaction with the building did improve, evidenced by the property manager’s communications as positive feedback.

Responsible maintenance and operation practices (like coil cleaning) can significantly improve IAQ and energy efficiency. Alliance Environmental Group, Inc. has found this to be true. With over 30 years of experience, Alliance Environmental can state conclusively that proper cleaning/maintenance of air ducts, HVAC systems and coils corroborates with the researchers’ expectations of a 10-15% reduction in energy costs.
